Giulio Ripamonti


1952 – 2013
Giulio Ripamonti was born in Lecco in 1952. He collaborated since 1972 with Norbert Linke (Hochschule fur Gestaltung Of Ulm) attending to “Product Design” in the field of the appliances, mechanics of precision (Philco, Weco Optical, Silma/Bosch, S.T.D. Dupont) until 1976 when he graduated in Architecture at Politecnico di Milano. In 1977 he started his collaboration with Carlo Bartoli attending to design of furniture of series, building, urban furniture and internal architecture for office, banks and fair stages. He designed with Carlo Bartoli the modular furniture “Open” and “Mix” for Tisettanta, kitchens “Knock Down”, “990” and the modular furniture “Odeon” for Arc Linea, furniture for office “Set 2” for Oscam, the kitchen “Brera” for Ernestomeda and “Icaro” for Varenna, furniture complements for Confalonieri. Subsequently with Carlo Bartoli and until 2009: chairs “Storm” and “Meet-Me”, the sofa “Flores”, tables “Yoga” for Segis and “Vanessa” for Bonaldo, the series “Formae” and the doorhandle “Gaia” for Colombo Design. He also took care of offices, show-room and fair stages for Segis and Colombo Design. He is present in the exhibition “Dal cucchiaio alla città” (meeting ICSID, Triennale di Milano), in the manifestation “Cucina in vetrina” at Eurocucina, in 1989 “Annual of Furniture Designer” dedicated to him a biography in the panorama “European Masters”. In the volume “Carlo Bartoli – I progettisti italiani”, the consolidated collaboration between the two architects is underlined.

He collaborated with Abet laminate, Arc Linea, Agrati, Bonaldo, Bonacina, Confalonieri, Colombo Design, Con&Con, Deltacalor, Ernestomeda, Kristalia, Matteo Grassi, Lualdi porte, Oscam, Rivolta, Rossi di Albizzate, Sagsa, Segis, Tisettanta, Varenna – Poliform, Volvo, Ycami. His works are published on: Abitare, Ambientare, Casa & Giardino, Casa Vogue, Domus, Gran Baazar, Interni, L’ambiente cucina, Habitat Ufficio, Progetto Ufficio, Riabita.
